Yep this is me,
Colette London Fit Girl Club Founder doing her routine at the gym.
I have just got myself back into a routine and this is the third day this week I have found myself in the gynn working out.
I have a few pounds to lose and controlling my food intake and increasing my exercise is how I intend to shift the pounds around my waist (you know ladies the muffin top we all dread and hate).
But, it's go to be done.
As we get older, the metabolism slows down, in order to keep it going some pace, we have to ad back exercise in our life.
Now I know many of you ladies do a lot of housework, and yes this does burn up energy, and if you are fortunate to be in a very fun, loving and sexy relationship, calories are getting burned up there too, (wink, wink).
However, getting back into a routine can be a 'bore' and a 'drag' and most of the time you reallly have to kick yourself in the butt to get to the gym, or walk or go to a club or something.
I encourage you all to take a look at this new app I am using which is really good, has lots of great people supporting and encouraging and its all FREE.

***GUEST POST*** The Do's And Don'ts Of A Successful Fitness Plan
1. DO Cardiovascular Exercise
Before setting foot inside a gym, you should have a fitness plan in mind. There are a variety of fitness plans that will help you achieve the results you want.
For optimal results, choose a plan that includes at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise such as swimming, running or biking three days each week.
Cardiovascular exercise not only helps your body burn excess calories, but is an important part of heart heath. You can also try walking on the treadmill, the stair stepper or the elliptical machine.
2. DO Lift Weights
In addition to cardiovascular exercise, you will achieve results much more quickly if you lift weights.
2. DO Lift Weights
In addition to cardiovascular exercise, you will achieve results much more quickly if you lift weights.
When you add strength training to your fitness plan, your body will gain lean muscle tissue and burn more calories at rest than with cardiovascular exercise alone.
Most people achieve great results when performing three sets of 10 to 12 repetitions with a weight they can handle. The last three repetitions should be tough to complete. When it becomes easier, move the weight up, to avoid reaching a plateau.
3. DON’T Overdo It
Many people make the mistake of going all out for the first few weeks of their new fitness plan. This often results in extreme muscle soreness or injury.
3. DON’T Overdo It
Many people make the mistake of going all out for the first few weeks of their new fitness plan. This often results in extreme muscle soreness or injury.
Being consistent is the key to getting in the best shape possible, so you don't want to overdo it. Learn to listen to your body when you begin your exercise plan.
There is a difference between muscle soreness and injury-related pain. Muscle soreness is relieved with anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen and rest. If you experience a sudden onset of pain or intense pain that does not go away with rest, see your doctor.
4. DON’T Avoid Strength Training
You may be concerned that lifting weights will make you big and bulky, especially if you are a woman. However, one of the biggest mistakes people make when beginning a new exercise plan is avoiding the weight room.
4. DON’T Avoid Strength Training
You may be concerned that lifting weights will make you big and bulky, especially if you are a woman. However, one of the biggest mistakes people make when beginning a new exercise plan is avoiding the weight room.
Lifting weights will help you achieve the tight, healthy body you desire. Women will not become big and bulky from weight lifting (unless they take some dangerous supplements, which you should never do) because their bodies do not make enough testosterone to do so.
Female body-builders who are overly muscular must alter their testosterone levels with steroids to get large muscles and spend literally hours every day in the weight room, which you likely wouldn’t dream of doing. 30 minutes should suffice.
Once you begin to see results from your fitness plan, you will never go back to a sedentary lifestyle. Be consistent with exercise and you will see results. Do not expect to shed 100 pounds in just a few months or become muscle-bound in three weeks. You must be patient and continue your fitness plan to see results. Eating a healthy diet is another important part of the fitness equation. Aim to eat a variety of complex carbohydrates, non-starchy vegetables, healthy fats, lean protein and low-fat dairy products each day. Many people who exercise regularly eat three to five small meals a day, instead of three large ones. This will keep your metabolism running strong and help you avoid hunger, that may cause you to overeat or slow down your metabolism.

**** GUEST POST**** Working Out Builds Health in Body and Love
Today we are really excited to announce a guest blog post today from Tonya Vrba an accomplished writer who writes about health, career and dating issues.
Working
Out Builds Health in Body and Love
Have you ever tried to start a work out
routine or eat healthier, only to have your efforts sabotaged by your partner?
They may not intentionally do it, but they’re not on a health kick. Why should
they give up the chips?
Perhaps you have been on the other end of things, with
your partner spending all this time working out when they could be cuddling
with you at a movie.
Whichever position you are in, you should seriously think
about working out together. If health isn’t enough to motivate you, then let
your relationship be the motivation. Studies show working out is a great
bonding activity for couples.
Sex: Let’s get the obvious out of the way.
You and your partner are both fit, healthy and flexible. In the gym you watch
each other sweat from the effort of flexing muscles. With all that’s going on
in the world, it may be best you conserve water and take a shower together.
Companionship: Having a cheerleader by your
side at the gym is invaluable. Knowing that your partner is waiting for you at
the gym instead of at home on the couch is a great motivator. On an off day,
when you’d rather just go home and do nothing, you now have to confront your
partner. If they do their job well, they’ll insist on working out. You can vent
your stresses to each other over a pair of weights.
Competition: Friendly competition can improve
your work out and bond couples together. You may have only planned to run 10
laps around the track, but if your partner is still going, you may suddenly
find the energy for a few more. If you are both about equal in your fitness
level, this may be a great time to get each other to branch out in other areas
of life. Set a deal that the one who runs the most laps gets to choose the
movie or dinner for the night.
Improve Your Health Faster: Connecting all
the dots, you’ll see that working out together will often result in working our
harder and more often. This can be especially important if working out is necessary
to avoid hypertension or diabetes.
Rekindle Your Love: Sure, sex is great, but
don’t forget about the love. Watching each other push yourselves and meet your
fitness goal will remind you why you love each other. You will view your
partner and they will view you as a strong and determined person. When you
reach your goal, your partner will be right there to share the moment with you.
Why are you sitting on the couch while your
partner is at the gym? Look at what you are missing out on. If you want to try
something a bit different than the gym, look into couple’s Pilates or yoga.
Find something you both like to do and enjoy your health in both body and love.
