Day 2 of our 10 Day Detox

Day one started out really well, hope you were all psyched up and raring to go. But the hard work is about to begin.

Remember, drinking lots of water will help you through the 'hunger' phases as well as cleansing the body.

As you detox and all the gunk comes out, you may find yourself sluggish, tired and headachy...

Sucks I know, but you got to keep going...

Enjoy the video!

Announcing The Start of Our January Detox

It's That Time Of Year When We Get Rid Of Unwanted Christmas Pounds...

Hey, Colette here, so how many of you put on excessive pounds over the holidays... (hands in air)
Yep I did too, so now we have to start to get back on track.  I don't know about you, but I have around 18lbs to lose to get into shape before tmy special birthday in MAY!

You see, it's a special year for me, in May I will turn xxxx, maybe I should do this as a competition and get you to guess my age!

So, I have a good WHY, going forward and it is really important to have a reason why you want to lose weight and look great!

Julie & Me (my best friend) at a gig - she is a singer!

Steps For Efficient Weight Loss

1.  Get real and ask yourself why you are doing this, and mentally prepare yourself to be ready to do whatever it takes.

2. Get a weightloss buddy, someone who can hold you to account.  If you want  online or email support, you could always email me direct at Londonfitgirlsclub@gmail.com

3. Have a goal in mind.  Make it realistic, the last thing you want to do is to say you want to lose 20lbs or more in an unrealistic amount of time.  Get real!  Expect to lose minimum 5 - 7lbs a month.  So you may want to break down your goals.

4. Put an exercise plan in place, cardio 30 minutes or more at least 3 / 4 times a week.  You may also want to look at weight training for toning up lose skin and defining muscles.

5. Prepare all meals the day before, so you know what you will be eating, and not be tempted to stray away from your eating plan.

6. Stock up on fruit and vegetables and healthy snacks.  This is the time to get rid of the comfort food shopping, i.e. no potatoe chips, chocolate, icecream or cakes or biscuits.

7. Put water on the menu. Yep you read that right, drinks lots of water during the detox, as this will help to break down fat, and to also stop you from feeling tired and sluggish, and headachey.

So with these steps in mind, ar eyou ready?

Fwd: Day 4 Detox - useful advice

Day Four of our Detox
It's going great so far, we've gone through the pain barrier so it wasn't too bad this time. By drinking lots of water to make sure that you're hydrated and also cutting out a lot of processed foods flour, bread, pasta, rice has reduced the bloating feeling.

So yesterday day three I know I didn't put a blog post up.   Some of you have come back to me saying that you are feeling tired exhausted this is normal on a detox and its because your body is getting rid of all the toxins and because you haven't got the artificial inflators such as caffeine running through your body to keep you alive or alert.
By drinking lots of green tea and eating regular meals spaced out to every two hours this will help to keep your energy levels balanced.

You should also be ensuring that you do light exercise nothing too heavy because obviously you are detoxing and it will be too much of a strain on the body.

Tomorrow is the final day of detox. However, this does not mean that you go back to ordinary eating you have to take your time to introduce the food groups that you took away slowly. We will go through this later in later blog posts

Detox Preparation - Getting The Most Out Of Detoxing

Now is the time of year to start thinking about detoxing. All the rich creamy and fatty foods eaten during the festive season have left many of us feeling bloated and overweight.  To get your body prepared for the January weight loss we normally go through, it is best to start with a gentle detox first.

Benefits of Detoxing:
1. Cleanses the colon of fatty foods that have stuck to the insides
2. Gets rid of toxins within the body
3. Improves digestion within the gut
4. Energises the body leaving you feeling refreshed
5.Increases blood flow and absorbtion of nutrients into the body
6. Helps to keep you 'regular'.

There are many more benefits too numerous to mention, but above are some really beneficial ones.

So, what does detoxing involve:
Well, first of all the point of detoxing is to get rid of toxins inthe body, therefore in order to aid the expulsion of these toxins, we need to eat foods that do not take long to digest, and foods that the body can digest quicker and easier.  Therefore no process foods, red meats, cakes, biscuits or pastas, rice or takeaways, rich creamy sauces etc.

Cave Man Dieting Method - what to eat!
We are going to take it back to 'cave man diet'.  What is this you may ask, well its about eating fresh fruit, raw vegetables or lightly steamed vegetables, nuts and grains.  Back in the days of the cave man, it was a simple diet, and meat was rarely eaten, if they did, they had to hunt for possibly days to find the meat and this would have involved a chase so plenty of exercise!

By cleansing the body of complex processed foods can help to get your digestive system running at its optimum best. Think of your body as a Ferrari, it needs the highest grade fuel in order for it to run at its optimum best, if you but diesel oil into a Ferrari, it will run sluggishly and slow and possibly blow up the engine!  So, having fresh fruit, vegetables, grains and nuts are the high grade fuel our body needs to run at its optimised best.  However, the way in which are foods are grown today do not give us as much vitamins and nutrients as they did say 20 or 30 years ago.  Food is grown amongst pesticides, chemicals and pollution, along with the fact that they are then 'processed' in some what to preserve their longevity in the stores from the place where they are harvested.  That is why it is important that we also supplement our diet with vitamins.

I will go into supplementation in another blog post, but for now the main vitamins we will need for our detox is as follows:
Aloe Vera Drink- this is good for cleansing and aiding digestion inthe gut
Flora Fibre - this contains good bacteria that the gut needs, because when we detox good and bad bacteria can be depleted from the body.
Fibre & Herbs - Fibre & Herb is high in soluble fibre which helps to optimise your digestive health by supporting the body’s natural elimination of waste and toxins.

All of the above vitamins can be purchased from my Herbalife shop http://healthyweightloss.herbalcoach.com and if you purchase through my shop you will get a 10% discount applicable for members who sign up for our 10 day detox programme today.
