Sports Nutrition Tips - How To Get The Most Out Of Your Workout

Today we're going to talk about sports nutrition.

Sports people have a far greater demand on their body they need more energy and food and the intake is a lot higher they are many deficiencies in their diet and if so this can cause injury.

With athletes they earn more money if their performance improves and they have less injuries so it really is important for them to have a good nutritional program.

The effects of exercise and playing sports can have the following they need more oxygen and their muscles need a lot of oxygen they also need more antioxidants to fight free radicals within their body.

There are four phases of nutrition for a sports person.

Phase 1 is also known as the fuelling stage now within the fuelling stage you need carbohydrates and basically carbohydrates help you to sustain your energy levels and ensure that your sugar levels don't drop beyond a certain point.

The second phase  is known as the refuelling stage and this is really important because it helps to keep the levels of hydration up.
In this stage it's really important to take a Formula One shake in juice with no protein half an hour before a race this is to help restore the muscle glycogens half an hour before a race.
Some athletes use carb loading pre-race this is to help muscle load up with glycogen which will actually help them to sustain long-term energy.

It is important during and after an event to take in water Drinkwater every 10 min during exercise.

The third phase is the recovery stage and at the recovery stage this will help muscle growth and delayed muscle soreness so it's important to take a high level of protein after a workout and you need to take antioxidants to help fight the free radicals produced when work out or racing. Free radicals are produced more than normal on people who do not read really work out it is important to drink and keep yourself hydrated because as you are in the race or working out causes sweating and this reduces your electrolytes. Electrolytes are vitamins and minerals needed the concentration and lack of these can make you pass out so it is really important for you to hydrate.

And the final phase is the repair stage .This is your chance to build muscle you have a two hour window to get the build process going muscles tear when you exercise. You need more protein to help build and repair muscle. If you work out you'll need more protein especially after exercise.
