OMG! Flatter Belly After Only 10 days!

So it's day 10 on my body by Vi challenge, and here are the results. 


As you know, day three I was down 2 pounds, And all this whilst still only having one shake a day.

So now I'm up in the game. Two shakes breakfast and lunch and a meal in the evening. If I'm seriously to lose these last 25lbs it's got to be done.

Saturday morning managed to get down to the gym. Felt really spaced out! Got to do more of this if I am to tone up properly

What has been really encouraging being on the ninety-day challenge is that there are so many of my friends on this doing it also.
Going to www.thechallenge.com site to enter your weight and measurements as well as the option of creating a daily blog or even to view new recipes and enter recipes you've discovered during the week and just seeing the other challengers on there sharing their updates is really addictive.

The community atmosphere on the challenge.com site is really encouraging to help you get through your 90 Day challenge.

***GUEST POST*** How Green Tea Can Help You Lose Weight

Low carb or low fat? Complex carbs or no carbs? 

Whole wheat or gluten-free? 

It can be confusing figuring out which diet advice to follow in order to lose weight and promote optimal health. 

Fortunately, there is one thing you can surely do to lose weight, regardless of what other choices you may make: Drink more green tea.

Green tea has many nutrients and compounds that can help you to lose weight. Here are a few components that green tea has that can help you to lose weight:

EGCG

EGCG, or epigallocatechin gallate, is a catechin found in green tea that can help to boost your metabolism. 

One cup of green tea is believed to provide enough of a boost to burn up to 70 calories. 

Therefore, you burn more of the calories from the foods you eat, as well as more of the calories from the fat you have stored. 

Green tea can help you to burn more energy from the foods you eat and to burn up more of your stored fat, helping you to lose weight and to keep from putting it back on.

Caffeine

Green tea has caffeine, though not as much caffeine as black tea or coffee. Studies have shown that the caffeine in green tea can increase thermogenesis, which helps to improve your metabolism. 

Thermogenesis is the increase of heat in the body as a result of the digestion and metabolization of food. The process can increase the body's ability to burn calories.

The caffeine in green tea is thought to be more effective at boosting metabolism because of the interplay between the caffeine and the EGCG. The two enhance the properties of the other, increasing the effectiveness on increasing metabolism and burning more fat.


Antioxidants

Antioxidants can help to neutralize free radicals in the body, reducing the signs of aging and the risk of disease. Antioxidants also help to reduce inflammation in the body, which can improve digestion and improve your metabolism. 

By taking in more antioxidants -- from green tea and from other sources like berries, dark chocolate and wine -- you can improve your overall health and make weight loss a bit easier.

Though it is just a simple drink, green tea has powerful benefits for your health, including making it easier for you to lose weight. 

Some studies have suggested that even without changing any other part of your diet, if you drink more green tea, you can improve your ability to lose weight. 

Drinking at least three cups of days will give you the benefits for weight loss. 

Just be careful not to cancel out the benefits by adding things like sugar or milk, which will add calories, fat and sugar that will undermine your weight loss efforts.

Lose The Emotional Baggage If You Want To Lose Weight

I have been working with clients who want to lose weight for over ten years now, and what I see is that it's not just about eating sensibly, or going on a diet. You have to look deeper than that.

Alot of people put on weight over a long period of time, then it is only when something enlightening crosses their path, for example illness, hearing of a friend who is affected by being overweight that people tend to look at themselves.

When you make that emotional decision to lose weight, to improve your health, it is the first step on a long road to mental wellbeing and weightloss success.

Understanding what your emotional and food triggers are also help to keep you on track. This is where having a good weightloss coach can help you.

As much as we try to lose weight on our own, it's hard, and there will be days when you struggle to eat anything healthy at all.

Having someone who you are accountable to helps. It is also encouraging for you to hear others struggle and how they got over their barriers, stories inspire,so it is important to share your own.

Having emotional baggage can impinge on your weightloss success, so you need to find a way to ease and release your emotional baggage and using self affirmations can help.

So if you are dieting but keep having false starts, look deeper than just trying out the diet. You have to have an end goal in mind.

The Body By Vi Challenge gives you the grounding for setting yourself a goal broken downing 90 day chunks, so that it is achievable.

Morning Vlog for you!

Today I woke up nice and early feeling refreshed and raring to go.
It's now Day 6 and I feel so much more energetic.
People have noticed my skin looks softer, clearer, glowing almost.. lol!

The shakes are filling, I find that having one in the morning, a full on lunch and another shake in the evening lasts me for the day.

You know you get that afternoon sugar rush, or slump?  I can say that I havent noticed it over the last 3 days.  My energy levels seem to be even throughout the day.

*** GUEST POST *** Staying Fit Without Going to a Gym/Fitness Center


Many people’s resolutions to get fit are derailed by a bad experience with a gym or fitness center.

Whether you felt intimidated by the more experienced gym-goers or turned off by the high price of a gym membership, rest assured that this doesn’t have to be the end of your quest for fitness.

You can stay fit without ever stepping foot in a gym. If you know what to do, it’s easy to exercise effectively at home.

You can easily incorporate both cardio and strength training into a home exercise routine.

Choosing the right one for you depends on several factors, including your schedule, goals, and the amount of money you are willing to invest in home exercise.

If your goal is to burn the maximum number of calories at home, invest in some quality cardio equipment. Treadmills, elliptical trainers and stationary bicycles are some of the most popular pieces of home cardio equipment.

Elliptical trainers and treadmills provide benefits similar to those gained from running, with added potential for resistance.

Stationary bicycles, on the other hand, work all of your leg muscles, using speed and resistance to mimic the experience of riding a bike on varied terrain.

These cardiovascular exercises are all incredibly effective for burning calories while also strengthening your muscles. Over time, cardio equipment is much more cost-effective than a gym membership.

If you’re just trying to save money, you can design a free home workout routine that requires no equipment at all.

For instance, you can enjoy an intense cardio workout by simply running or jogging.

To strength train without equipment, you’ll need to perform bodyweight exercises, which use your own weight as resistance to build muscles.

Squats, planks, and those killer burpees are some of the essential building blocks in a bodyweight strength routine.

There is also plenty of small, inexpensive equipment you can pick up to enhance your workout. For example, small free weights allow you to boost your strength training routine, and you can even use them during a stationary bicycle session to get a simultaneous upper body workout.

If you feel you would benefit from following an instructor, there are many workout DVDs, apps, and online videos that can teach you effective methods for staying fit without a gym.

A jump rope, yoga mat, or set of resistance bands will give you even more home exercise options.

No matter what your fitness goals are, don’t let them get derailed simply because you’ve realized the gym isn’t for you. With a little effort, you can stay fit without ever leaving the comfort and convenience of your living room.

Day 2 of Body By Vi Challenge and my Black Forest Gataeu Shake... Delish!

Day Two On The Vi Challenge

So I woke up with lots of energy possibly because the days are getting lighter, and I am really a summer person.  I love the sunshine!

Day one was interesting as I had my Vi Shake around 7.45am and didn't feel hungry until around 1.15pm.  I normally am crawling up the walls around 12.pm and normally also have a snack around 10am, so a big difference for me on the first morning. 

Lunch was past, chicken and sun dried tomatoes, and a pear and tangerine for afters. 

Around 3.30pm I had my Vi Cookie - Peanut Butter which was to died for.... it was also very filling. 

I ended up not having dinner, instead I had another shake in the evening, then had a cup of tea before going to bed. 

So I woke up energised and created my Black Forest Gataeu Shake....

The recipe is as follows:
300ml of Hazelnut Soya Milk
1/2 cup red berries
1/4 cup crushed ice
2 scoops of ViSalus Sweet Dream Mix

My Way / The Vi Way - How To Make The Shakes

 SO I have been experimenting with the shakes and have been blending all sorts, I'm sharing some of the ones I have found MWAH! 

Try this delicious FROZEN Chocolate Banana Recipe.

 It will make your mouth water and you will no doubt jump with joy when you get the first taste! Delicious!

- 2 scoops ViSalus Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix
- 1 Banana (Optional: Frozen)
- 8–10 oz. Chocolate flavour Soya Milk or oat milk, rice milk, semi skimmed (add 1 tablespoon of chocolate powder if you are not using chocolate milk)
- 1/2 cup of crushed ice (Must have)

- Blend and Enjoy!






The Body by Vi Strawberry Blast Shake Recipe:If you love strawberries this shake is a must try! 

- 2 Scoops of ViSalus Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix
- 1 cup frozen strawberries (if you can get fresh strawberries even better)
- 8 oz. Skim Milk, Soy, Rice or Almond Milk
- 1/2 cup of crushed Ice (Must have)
- Blend and enjoy!





Blended Coffee Frappe Shake

- 8 oz. (1 cup) coffee-instant or perculated regular, prepared with water,
- 150ml skim milk or soy, almond, rice etc.,
- 2 scoops ViSalus Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix
- 1 teaspoon of Chocolate Powder
1/2 cup crushed ice

- Blend it up!

A bit of squirty cream to top it off... mmmm

If I Have High Blood Pressure Can I Join The Challenge?

Generally speaking you should always consult with your general practitioner before embarking on a weight loss regime, especially if you are overweight or have any medical conditions.

One of the reasons for high blood pressure is being overweight or the lack of exercise.  So technically losing a bit of weight may alleviate some of the problems associated with high blood pressure.

According to the Visalus Sciences Forum....

Generally speaking, while we can't make claims that we can help with blood pressure (as this is  drug claim) we do know that our products may be beneficial for those with high blood pressure.

Our shake and products are low sodium, and one cause of high blood pressure is being overweight.
A slight reduction in weight may help doctors lower the blood pressure medication. Too much sodium, not enough potassium can also impact blood pressure. So we have low sodium, and some potassium in the shake.

SO if you have high blood pressure and  want to lose weight and join us in the challenge, generallly speaking it should be ok, but always consult with your general practitioner first.

Body By Vi UK Is Now Open


April 15th 2013 Launch day!

We are officially open for business so go ahead an join the challenge below.

Losing weight, cleaning lean muscle, has never been easier.
